Passport and Visas

Travelers holding valid Schengen visas or residence permits may be eligible for entry under Romania's current regulations, subject to applicable conditions.

Currency Exchange

The official currency of Romania is the Romanian Leu (RON). Currency exchange services are available at banks, exchange offices, and the airport. ATMs are widely available throughout Cluj-Napoca. Bank business hours are generally from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Credit Cards

International credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Maestro, are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, and most retail outlets. Contactless and mobile payments are also commonly used.

Cluj-Napoca enjoys a pleasant continental climate. In May, daytime temperatures typically range from 18°C to 23°C (64°F to 73°F), while evenings are cooler, with temperatures between 8°C and 12°C (46°F to 54°F). Light layers and a jacket are recommended, as occasional spring showers may occur.

Shopping

Shopping centers, supermarkets, and most retail stores are generally open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Many cafés, restaurants, and convenience stores remain open until late evening, while local markets may have shorter operating hours.
